I am Yuhei Yamaguchi, a coaching director of Private Football.
We are pleased to announce that one of our student, Tyler Keating ,has officially signed a professional contract with UD Oliveirense in Portugal’s second division.
He went to Portugal in December 2023 as an international student with UD Oliveirense U19.

UD Oliveirense U19, Portugal, begins accepting our student as a trainee
Tyler was recognized for his abilities at U19 and has now been accepted to join the top team this time.
Tyler has been taking private lessons regularly since he was 10 years old, and until the age of 12, we focused on his ball control techniques from basic to advanced level.
From junior high school, we worked on a combination of ball control and physical training to improve his physical abilities until just before he signed his contract (age 19).

Needless to say, the road to becoming a professional was not easy.
There were times when he was injured during team practice and could not play as much as he wanted, and there were times when he did not fit in with the team or the coach’s style.
But his dream of playing in Europe never changed.
The eight years between the time I began his private lessons and the time he became a professional player seemed long and short. As his coach, I am very happy that I was able to help him not only improve his soccer skills but also grow as a person.
I would also like to thank his parents and Tyler for their trust in me as his private lesson coach over the years.
The Portuguese professional league (Primeira Liga) season starts in August.
We won’t know if he will be able to play in the games until it starts, but I am praying for Tyler’s success and his promotion to the first division.
